SystemSix - Carbon Ultegra
SystemSix
As the name suggests, the SystemSix uses 6 "systems" in the quest for top speed. This indicates 6 components that are fully optimized for aerodynamics; the frame, fork, seat post, stem, handlebars and wheelset.
KNØT = Speed
KNØT, named after a speed unit, is and new range of aerodynamically optimized components Cannondale designed specifically for the SystemSix.
- A disc-specific set of wheels with rims that are 64mm high. They have an internal rim width of 21mm (32mm external) which is ideal for 26mm tires and they weigh 1642 grams per pair.
- Systembar, a two-piece cockpit that mimics the aero benefits of a one-piece handlebar stem. Just as aerodynamic, but easier to make personal adjustments. The handlebar's brake levers run 30mm inward, so a 42cm handlebar effectively measures 40cm at your shifters. There are Systembars of 44cm, 42cm, 40cm and 38cm.
- A stem uniquely designed for the Systembar, integrating all cables. Five lengths will be available from 80 to 120mm.
- A unique seatpost that should provide even more aero benefits.
Comfort
Those who think aerobike do not think of a comfortable bike to sit on for hours and hours. On the contrary. Because of their sporty geometry and stiff frame, most aerobikes are rather uncomfortable and better used during shorter, intensive rides and races. This would now also be a thing of the past.
The vertical stiffness of the SystemSix is designed to absorb as much road shock as possible. In addition, standard tires of 26mm come on fairly wide rims. So you can easily set a lower tire pressure without having to pedal harder.
